A NEW WAY OF MILITATING
Street art takes part in artivism which illustrates a new
way of militating. Paint one’s dreams on the walls,
photograph one’s demands, showcase one’s
convictions…
« Today street art expands my field of action to talk
about nature in a different way. It allows me to show
the other side of nature, the one less prone to be in
the light. Furthermore, this means of expression gives
me the possibility to create without boundaries and
also to broach sensitive topics, rarely dealt with, such
as animal prostitution. »
Limited editions Street art in NYC were crafted in
Manhattan, Soho and Chinatown neighbourhoods as
well as in the Queens, Brooklyn and Bronx boroughs.
The purpose of these posters, spray paintings,
pastings, cut out papers and stencils is to heighten the
American public’s awareness about the big monkeys'
disappearing issue worldwide.
The scientific community speaks indeed with a single
voice on this issue: several species of primates are at
risk of becoming extinct in their natural habitats in the
next 10 to 15 years.
