Exhibition Estuaires

Project exhibition Estuaires in the Marine Natural Park of Picardy Estuaries and the Opal Sea.
It will allow the study of the large sandy areas and mudflats discovered at low tide along the entire coastline of the Park, which extends from Tréport to the town of Ambleteuse, including the Baie de Somme. 
The objective is to map these areas on a surface of about 14,000 hectares, to better understand the sedimentology and the communities of benthic organisms that live buried in the sand and which constitute a source of food for many species of birds and fish.
In this project it is also planned to measure chemical contaminants (pesticides, hydrocarbons, metals) in the sediment, and to evaluate the impact of human activities on the environment. All this with the aim of moving towards more environmentally friendly uses of the coastline.
